My name is Laura King and I am the Instructional Facilitator at McCrary Elementary School. I am a proud graduate of Asheboro City Schools and Appalachian State University. This is my 13th year working as an educator in Asheboro City Schools. I taught 5th grade at McCrary for nine years before leaving to teach 4th grade dual language at Lindley Park for two years, and then serving as the AIG Specialist at Balfour and Loflin for one year. My husband, Michael, and I have two children. Our daughter, Margaret, is a 1st grader and our son, Tripp, is 18 months old.

My job is to serve as a liaison between our Central Office Curriculum and Instruction Team and our teachers. I help guide instruction in the building by supporting teachers in implementing our curriculum through core instruction and interventions. As a part of this role, I support teachers through leading professional development, data collection and meetings, and coaching.

Another part of my job is to coordinate our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), the framework we use to provide all students the level of support they need to be successful in academics, behavior, social-emotional learning, and attendance.

If I can help you with any questions regarding instruction here at McCrary, the MTSS process, or your child’s progress, please call me at (336) 629-1817, or email me at [email protected].
