Hello Teachey Tiger Families!
I am so proud to serve as principal at Guy B. Teachey Elementary! Here at Teachey, we continually strive for excellence in all we do. First and foremost, our staff understands the importance of building relationships with students that foster a sense of belonging for all. With this supportive foundation in place, we set high academic expectations and aim to provide innovative and fun learning experiences for our students. All of this comes together to create our school-wide expectations:
We are respectful - We promote cultural differences and the individual personalities and qualities that each person possesses.
We are responsible - We encourage positive behavior and decisions that fulfill expectations set before us.
We are learners - Both staff and students alike are willing and eager to try new things, learn and grow!
At Teachey we are also proud of the rich traditions that provide memories that students talk about long after their time at Teachey! Our incredibly supportive school community and PTO contributes to the exciting opportunities that Teachey has to offer.
Fun facts about Mrs. Evans:
Originally from Erie, Pennsylvania, one of the snowiest areas of the U.S.
Proud to be a high school (state champion!) and college basketball player
Earned Bachelor of Secondary Math Education from Niagara University (NY) and Master of Secondary Math Education from Bowling Green State University (OH)
Taught high school math in Guilford County and at Asheboro High School
Completed the Principal Fellows Program, where I interned at Foust Elementary in Guilford County, and earned a Master of School Administration from UNCG in 2015
Spent three years as assistant principal at Charles W. McCrary Elementary
Husband (Brian) and I have three kids.
