Media Mission Statement

We are committed to providing a caring, collaborative, and resourceful learning environment that fosters skills in lifelong learning and the enjoyment of reading.

Media Vision Statement

The South Asheboro Middle School Library Media Center will satisfy the 21st century learning community of recreational and literary needs through services in both physical & virtual environments that prepare students to be globally competitive for college, careers & citizenship.

Media Policies

Media Center hours are from 7:45 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. daily. Students arriving before 8:05 am, may use the media center to check out books, read, work on class assignments, and use the computers.  Media center computers may be used for school-related work only, including class assignments,  using the online catalog, research, and reading and other curriculum programs.  Fines are assessed for books that are returned damaged.  If a student owes books or fines to a previous school, the books and/or fine payment may be turned in to Ms. Dawson in the media center, and they will be forwarded to the appropriate school.  Only the school where the obligations originated may remove those obligation.

Book Checkout
Students may check out up to 3 books and 3 magazines. Overdue books and outstanding fine reports are sent to the language arts teachers at the end of each semester and are also sent home with report cards.   Reference books are not circulated but are for use in the media center.
