ACS Announces New Partnership to Recruit Substitute Teachers

ASHEBORO - Asheboro City Schools is excited to announce a new partnership with ESS, a leading provider of educational managed service solutions for K-12 school districts. ESS will manage the district’s substitute program in its entirety. ESS will recruit, screen, train, hire, and manage applicants looking to be part or full-time substitutes in Asheboro City Schools.

“By partnering with ESS to recruit, hire, and manage our substitute teachers, our administrators and Human Resources department will be able to focus on recruiting and hiring highly-qualified classroom teachers and staff to serve our students in ACS. We believe this new partnership will be a win-win for our district,” said Dr. Aaron Woody, Superintendent for Asheboro City Schools.

ESS will place substitute teachers and provide an online substitute management program that allows full-time teachers and staff to log their absences electronically. Those absences are then immediately visible to the substitutes interested in accepting the vacant positions. Each school will be equipped with a barcode scanning device which substitutes will use to scan their photo identification card, logging them in and out of their assignments.

ESS complies with state-mandated requirements regarding the credentials needed to work in public schools. To become a substitute employee with Asheboro City Schools, interested applicants can apply at ESS.com.
