5 Asheboro High School Graduates Sign With NC FAME Program

On Thursday, June 15 five 2023 Asheboro High School Graduates attended the signing ceremony for NC FAME where they signed on as registered apprentices with local partnering companies. The signing ceremony was held at Guilford Technical Community College in the Koury Hospitality Careers Auditorium. This ceremony celebrated the First In Flight Chapter for NC FAME, which is the first chapter in North Carolina for FAME USA. 


NC FAME is the North Carolina Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education Program which allows students to earn a college degree while working with partnering companies with the potential to graduate debt free. Students in the program will work towards their associate's degree while working with their signed companies and earning hands-on job training and experience. Over two years, students participating in the program will earn a competitive hourly wage while working three days each week. Once the program is completed, students may be offered to continue to work with their partnered companies or continue their education. These students will gain valuable employment experience with manufacturing leaders to have a headstart on their careers. 


The five Ashbeboro High School graduates and their signed companies are: 


Alice Schultz - Toyota NC

Josue Escalante- P&G

Noel Carmac - Toyota NC

Owen Brown - Toyota NC

Darius Headen - Jowat Adhesives
