Congratulations to our AHS Wrestling Team and Coach Berrier for finishing 4th as a team at the NCHSAA 3A Midwest Regionals this weekend. Individual winners qualifying for the NCHSAA 3A Individual State Championship at the Greensboro Coliseum were:
120 Diego Gutierrez - 1st place
113 Xavier Santos - 4th place
160 Christian Diaz - 4th place
195 Eddie Soto - 4th place
Again help me congratulate these young men. State Championship will begin Thursday 2/16 thru 2/18 at the Greensboro Coliseum.
Basketball
Please help me congratulate Coach Brian Nance for being named this year's Mid Piedmont Conference boys basketball Coach of the Year! Coach Nance led our boys to the first undefeated conference championship since 1976.
Swimming
Congratulations to our AHS Swim Team and Coach Hinson for an incredible showing at the NCHSAA Swimming State Championships! All of our swimmers qualified for their final events on Saturday, and Megan Becker placed second in the 100 free, and fourth in the state in the 200 free.
