Girls Golf
Congratulations to Salem Lee for winning the MPC Conference Tournament at Winding Creek Golf Club, with a score of 77. Salem was also named Mid Piedmont 3A Player of the Year and also made the MPC All Conference Team. Emma Dobbins also made the MPC All Conference Team for Asheboro as well.
The Lady Blue Comet golfers captured second place overall in the Conference Tournament.
Cross Country
Four runners from Asheboro High School's cross country team earned all-conference honors and top-ten finishes in Thursday's Mid Piedmont Conference championship at Denton Farm Park. The Comets are the county's only 3A team.
In the boys' race, sophomore Seth Hydzik was seventh overall while senior Brandon Aguilar was 10th. All-conference runners received T-shirts from Albemarle's Vac 'n' Dash running store for their wins. Isaac Martinez was first Comet finisher in the JV race.
In the girls' race, sophomore Sophia Roman was the top AHS finisher and fifth overall; freshman Malaika Kahn was ninth.
