Hispanic Heritage Assembly

Hispanic Heritage Assembly

On Wednesday, October 11th, Balfour celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with an all school (K-5) assembly.  The Dual Language classes performed different activities to highlight the different Hispanic Cultures.   The assembly started with a parade of countries.  Representatives from each grade level were able to hold a flag that reflected a different Hispanic country and walk out into the Multi-purpose room.  Then, Kindergarten started off the assembly with a dance.  Followed by, First grade teaching the school about Frida Kahlo.   Then, Second grade did presentations about the animals found in these different countries.  Third and Fourth grade did dances to show their Hispanic culture. The program ended with a song that was sung by the Fifth Grade.  All students enjoyed this assembly and it was great to see some of the students perform!   Thank you to all the Dual Language teachers that worked the students to bring this assembly together!!
