ACS and Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates
Asheboro City Schools continues to work with local public health officials during the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic. We are developing our re-entry plans for the 2020-2021 school year to ensure the safety of our students and staff. We will update the following pages throughout the summer as our plans become more definitive.

Sophomore Guide

10th Grade

Your primary efforts in 10th grade should be to work hard, learn all that you can, and make the very best grades you are capable of making.  All sophomores will take the Pre-ACT, an assessment that measures your college readiness and helps you prepare for the ACT.  You are also strongly encouraged to register for the PSAT.  This additional practice should strengthen your test-taking skills as you prepare for the SAT.  Continue to seek leadership opportunities in the school and community.  Get to know your school counselor or the college adviser.  Continue to seek opportunities for scholarships and summer programs.  Check with your school counselor to make certain your selection of courses for the junior year fits your future plans and academic abilities.

- The Pre-ACT assessment is administered to students in the tenth grade.  This assessment measures college readiness skills and helps students to prepare for the ACT.
