The
community is invited to attend the Asheboro
City Schools 2018 State of Our Schools celebration on Tuesday, January 30 from 5-6:30
p.m. at Asheboro High School. Refreshments will be served at 5 p.m. in the
Asheboro High School Media Center, and a celebration will begin at 5:30 p.m. in
the high school’s Performing Arts Center. Several student performances will
also take place throughout the program.
Dr.
Terry W. Worrell, Superintendent of Asheboro City Schools will present
information about the current state of Asheboro City Schools. “State of Our
School will be a special celebration where we will have an opportunity to share
with our community the district’s many accomplishments. Just this year, we’ve
expanded our after-school tutoring and Dual Language Immersion programs; we’ve
planned the Asheboro High School renovation and expansion project; and we have
had a number of teacher and student achievements. These successes are a
testament to our hardworking students, dedicated teachers, committed families,
knowledgeable Board of Education, and engaged community. We believe this event
will provide us with a platform in which we can publicly express how grateful
we are to live and work in such an encouraging and supportive community,” said
Dr. Worrell.
Dr.
Worrell will also discuss the considerable number of volunteer opportunities
offered at elementary and secondary levels within Asheboro City Schools. She
will conclude the presentation by sharing the district’s focus areas and how the
district is developing different learning opportunities to fit the individual
needs of each student.
“We
anticipate a fantastic program. We look forward to continuing to partner with
our community to create endless possibilities for the incredible students we
serve in Asheboro City Schools. Our work not only involves engaging students,
but also engaging our families, community, and business leaders throughout
Asheboro and Randolph County,” said Dr. Worrell.
