Asheboro City School Recognized as Top Ten School District in NC
Asheboro City Schools has been recognized by State Superintendent, Mark Johnson, as a top ten school district in North Carolina based on the district’s four year cohort graduation rate for the 2017-18 school year. The distinction celebrates school district performance and the progress made over the last 10 years of ensuring more students earn a high school diploma.

“During the 2017-2018 school year we saw our four-year cohort graduation rate reach an all-time high of 92.7 percent. Not only are we extremely proud of our high graduation rate, we are also pleased with all of our schools who met or exceeded growth for the second year in a row. We believe the continued rise in our graduation rate reflects a deep commitment on the part of the Asheboro City Board of Education, our quality educators, phenomenal students, and dedicated families,” said Dr. Terry W. Worrell, Superintendent for Asheboro City Schools.

Dr. Worrell further celebrated this recognition by stating, “It gives me great pleasure to represent Asheboro City Schools on behalf of students, families, educators, and our incredible Board of Education. We are a learning community of excellence and we will continue to be creative in our innovative approaches to positively impact student learning,” she added.
