AHS Key Club supports Project Eliminate

The AHS Key Club, with the help of the Asheboro High School student body, raised over $620 for the Eliminate Project during Key Club Week.  The Eliminate Project is a joint project between UNICEF and Kiwanis International that aims to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus (MNT) worldwide.  As of 2019, MNT has been eliminated in all but 12 countries; the disease strikes the poorest of the poor, the geographically hard to reach, and those without health care.  Through a schoolwide donation drive through 1st Period classes, we raised enough money to provide over 345 immunizations against tetanus.  This will protect mothers and all of their future babies from this extremely painful and fatal disease.  The winning classes won orange juice and doughnuts delivered to them during 1st Period.
