PTO has
come up with a really fun way to help make our school some money for our
benches and picnic tables. We hope you are all ready to be GOOD SPORTS!
There is a fun you tube video featuring a couple of crazy guys who have fun
with an eating contest. It goes like this....
There are numbered brown paper bags with food
type items inside. The participants do not know what is in the bags. You select
a bag and whatever is inside the bag you can either
•
“Eat it” EAT a big spoonful of the item
or 2. “Wear it” meaning the ENTIRE contents is dumped on top of your head (your only
protection will be goggles to protect your eyes) The food can be anything from
mayonnaise, hot sauce, dog food, sardines,
peaches or anything in between.
We realize that our kids really want to see our
most popular teachers and staff participate in this challenge. So we will be
asking all of our students to nominate one person for each of the 5 categories.
•
1. 6th
Grade Teacher 2. 7th Grade
Teacher 3. 8th Grade
Teacher 4. Elective Teacher 5. Administration
The top 20 people nominated ( 4 from each
category ) will be in a bidding war with a jar in their classroom. Students
Teachers Parents and even other staff members can add to the Jar.
The top TWO
with the most money in their jar for each category will be asked to participate
in this challenge. PLEASE consider helping us in this fun way to help raise
money for our school.
There will most likely be 5 items per person that the participants will have the challenge to “Eat it or Wear it”.
We will be offering for each participant to have one “Pass” based on a sniff test. Meaning you can elect to sniff an item FIRST and if you don’t like how it smells, you can pass it to your opponent and they have to “Eat it or Wear it”
We will also offer One $10 “payoff” per contestant. Meaning if you simply CANNOT “Eat or Wear” the item you picked, you may pay PTO a fee of $10 and be totally exempt from that one item.
The student nominations need to be turned into PTO by Wednesday November 13th.
The top 20 will be announced on Monday November
18th.
Bidding War will start on Tuesday November 19th
and will run until Wednesday December 11.
On Thursday December 12 we will announce the
final contestant list.
On Friday December 13 LET THE GAMES BEGIN. We
will send home forms for kids to stay after school. If they pay before
Wednesday December 11 the cost will be $3.00 per kid to watch the event. If
they pay at the door they day of the event it will be $5.00. The event will be
from after school 3:20 until 5:00.
Parents will need to be prepared to pick their child up after the event
PROMPTLY AT 5:00.
We do plan to have some concessions available.
