ASHEBORO – The Asheboro City Board of Education accepted the resignation of Board Member Gustavo Agudelo, at the Board’s regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, September 12, 2024. Mr. Agudelo was recognized for his dedicated service to the Board, administrators, staff, and students of Asheboro City Schools since 2011.
Applications are available online (DOC, PDF) or may be picked up at the Asheboro City Schools Central Office, located at 1126 South Park Street. Applications may be hand-delivered or mailed and must contain a hand signature. No electronic applications will be accepted. All applications must be received by 4:00 p.m. on September 26.
The appointed board member will serve until the next election in November 2025.
An ad hoc Nomination committee appointed by the Board Chair will review the applications and select candidates to interview October 1-4. The committee will make a recommendation to the Board at their regular meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 10 at 7:30 p.m. The new member will then be sworn in at the November 14 Board of Education meeting.
