Throughout the month, we are highlighting influential and impactful Black leaders. Several members of the ACS staff contributed names and facts of people they believed should be recognized. Teressa Brown, EC Teacher at Charles W. McCrary Elementary, chose to acknowledge poet/activist/teacher Maya Angelou. Ms. Brown says that Maya Angelou believed in the power of education and preparing students for the future. ACS is committed to enabling students to be confident, lifelong learners, and productive citizens. When students come through our doors, it's our job to be a rainbow in their cloud in order to show them that their future is bright.
