My name is Megan Smith, and I am excited to join the Asheboro High School community as an Assistant Principal as I begin my 23rd year serving students, families, and educators in Asheboro City Schools. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving students and staff in a variety of roles, including classroom teacher, Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG) specialist, instructional facilitator, and assistant principal. These experiences have strengthened my passion for supporting high-quality instruction, building positive relationships, and creating opportunities for all students to succeed.
I am a recent graduate of the Principal Preparation for Excellence and Equity in Rural Schools (PPEERS) program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where I further developed my leadership skills and commitment to serving school communities.
As a proud Asheboro family, my husband, Scott, and our children, Calvin and Penny, are all graduates of Asheboro High School. It is truly an honor to return to AHS in this new role, and I look forward to partnering with our students, families, staff, and community as we continue the school's tradition of excellence. Go Comets!
