ACS is excited to offer a number of learning opportunities for the summer months of 2022. While many of our summer programs are by invitation only, we will offer open registration for Career and Technical Education Camps, the Career Accelerator program (internships), and College Tours. 

CTE Summer Camps

Agriculture

Middle School

Rising Grades 6-8

July 11-14

North Asheboro Middle School


Agriculture: the food we eat, the clothes we wear, the fuel that drives us and so much more! This four-day camp will explore what modern agriculture is and how it impacts our daily lives. Students will learn about careers and concepts related to plant sciences, animal sciences, and natural resources through hands-on activities, games, and special guest presentations. Register here!

We know food doesn’t just come from a grocery store but… where DOES it come from? Join us for this four-day camp as we track our food from the farm to the table. Each day we will visit local agricultural businesses to learn more about the production, processing, marketing, and distribution of food right here in Randolph County. Register here!


Design & Engineering

Rising Grades 7-9

July 25 - August 4 (Monday-Thursday each week)

Asheboro High School


During this packed two-week camp, students will learn about the design process through an exciting project! Working in groups of three, students will participate in designing a guitar for one of our schools or programs. They will consult with the client to determine their design priorities, design options to present, and then follow through with painting the guitar according to the client specifications.

Media Production Camp

North Asheboro Middle School


Media Production Camp introduces middle and high school students to the exciting industry of media production. Students learn to use professional equipment such as lights, cameras, and computer editing software. This camp in video production will equip students with the necessary skills to learn about producing media audio and videos in a fun and challenging week. Students will work individually and in groups on pre-production, production, and post-production fundamentals. Register here!

Asheboro High School


It’s the Great ACS Food Truck Race! In this exciting camp students will learn about what it takes to build a business plan by working in small groups to design a food truck! Students will design the menu, logo and determine their ideal customer. Through field trips and guest speakers, students will hear from local business owners about what ignited their passion for entrepreneurship and how they use social media and other platforms to promote their business. Register here!


Health Science
