Severe Weather Awareness Week
Governor Beverly Perdue will declare the week of February 27 - March 5 as NC's Severe Weather Awareness Week in an effort to spread the educational messages about how to prepare for various types of severe weather from tornadoes to flooding and lightning.
The Statewide Tornado Drill will take place Wednesday March 2nd at 9:30 am. The tornado drill will be broadcast over NOAA Weather Radio and will active the State's Emergency Alert System including local radio and cable stations. We ask that residents, schools and businesses use that time to put their safety plans into practice.
Mr. Orrock has provided the documents below, safety statements which the NWS will issue each day of the awareness week, for Asheboro City Schools to use use any way fashion we deem appropriate. Each statement covers a different topic.
