School Celebrates Read Across America Week!

Celebrating Read Across Week

Students and Staff celebrated the national celebrations of Read Across America Week with different activities in the classroom and different dress up days.  Also classrooms were able to participate in a door decorating contest that celebrated the love of reading.  It was an exciting week and the kids loved it.  Listed below are the different dress up days and the different classroom activities throughout the week.  Finally listed below are the door decorating winners.  Thank you to all who participated and what a great week that was had by all!
 
Dress Up Days:
Monday-I Am Not Going to Get Up Today!-Wear your pajamas.
Tuesday-Cat in the Hat Day-Dress in red and white.
Wednesday-Wacky Wednesday-Wear your clothes backwards, inside our or mismatched.
Thursday-Character Day-Dress as your favorite book character or letterland character
Friday-Fox and Socks Day-Wear your craziest socks and craziest hair.
 
Daily, Fun Activities: 
Monday-DEAR Time-Classes will "Drop Everything and Read" in their pajamas!
Tuesday-Tuesday Teacher Choice-Teachers will share some Dr. Seuss's fun!
Wednesday-Reading Buddies-Classes will pair up with another class and read together!
Thursday-Character Parade-Students who dress up as their favorite character will get to participate in our character parade!
Friday-Students will watch a read aloud video done by Dr. Crooks, Mr. Tuft, and Ms. Dawalt and attend a dance party to celebrate Balfour reading 25,000 books so far this year!

First Place-Mrs. Hinshaw's Room with Slime Lab
Second Place-Mrs. Hanson's Room with Snapping About Reading
Third Place-Mrs. Przybylowski with Dragons Loves Tacos
