Students and Staff celebrated the national celebrations of Read Across America Week with different activities in the classroom and different dress up days. Also classrooms were able to participate in a door decorating contest that celebrated the love of reading. It was an exciting week and the kids loved it. Dress Up Days:
Monday-I Am Not Going to Get Up Today!-Wear your pajamas.
Tuesday-Cat in the Hat Day-Dress in red and white.
Wednesday-Wacky Wednesday-Wear your clothes backwards, inside our or mismatched.
Thursday-Character Day-Dress as your favorite book character or letterland character
Friday-Fox and Socks Day-Wear your craziest socks and craziest hair.
Daily, Fun Activities:
Monday-DEAR Time-Classes will "Drop Everything and Read" in their pajamas!
Tuesday-Tuesday Teacher Choice-Teachers will share some Dr. Seuss's fun!
Wednesday-Reading Buddies-Classes will pair up with another class and read together!
Thursday-Character Parade-Students who dress up as their favorite character will get to participate in our character parade!
Friday-Students will watch a read aloud video done by Dr. Crooks, Mr. Tuft, and Ms. Dawalt and attend a dance party to celebrate Balfour reading 25,000 books so far this year!
