Asheboro City Schools Seeks Highly-Qualified Teacher Candidates

ASHEBORO – Asheboro City Schools invites highly-qualified teacher candidates in all licensure areas who are interested in joining the district’s innovative team to a teacher recruitment fair on Saturday, February 24 from 9 a.m. -12 p.m. in the Professional Development Center located on the campus of Asheboro High School. Administrators from each school and the Central Office will be in attendance to speak with candidates.

“This is a great opportunity to connect with our schools and experience our community,” said Executive Director of Human Resources, Carla Freemyer. “Some of our administrators have said they will host impromptu interviews if the opportunity presents itself,” she added.

Asheboro City Schools has experienced an award-winning year over the last several months. The district was recognized as one of only seven school districts in North Carolina to meet or exceed growth during the 2016-17 school year by the North Carolina Department of Instruction. And last year, Dr. Terry W. Worrell, Superintendent for Asheboro City Schools was recognized as the 2017 North Carolina Distinguished Educator of the Year award by the state chapter of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD). ASCD is the most influential learning, teaching, and leading educational association across the nation. Asheboro City Schools is also proud to have several teachers on staff who rank in the top 25 percent of teachers statewide based on academic growth for the 2016-17 school year.
