Asheboro City Schools provides Exceptional Children services designed to meet the special needs of children with disabilities. Our focus is on individualized, high quality instruction and supports for all our special needs students according to the federal, state, and local mandates of the Individual with Disabilities Educational Act and the regulations of the North Carolina Public School Law, Article 9. Asheboro’s caring and professional staff work with over 500 students with disabilities aged 3 through 21 providing a full continuum of services aligned to each child’s unique needs. This continuum of services provides the child with an appropriate and engaging learning environment matched to their current academic and behavioral abilities. Our EC staff is committed to providing appropriate educational opportunities to all children with disabilities to meet their unique needs and prepare them for further educational, employment and independent living.
