To request approval to distribute non-school materials to students, Asheboro City Schools will apply the following standards: download required form here
· Only the following agencies and organizations are permitted to distribute or display educational information or information about programs and activities of interest to students:
o Local, state and federal government agencies and departments
o Non-profit organizations that offer educational, recreational, cultural or character development activities or programs for school-aged children
o School/Business partnerships or incentive programs that directly enhance or support the school’s educational program.
o Community colleges, universities and other non-profit institutions of higher education
· The materials must not be political in nature
· Materials cannot advertise, sell or promote a product or service
· Materials must comply with school district policies and state/government laws and regulations
Guidelines for Approval: (Written approval must be obtained for each flyer/material to be distributed.)
· A copy of the publication or material must be submitted to the Public Information Officer for approval
· All materials must be submitted for review at least 5 school days in advance of distribution
· All materials must contain the following disclaimer: This is a non-school material that is neither endorsed nor necessarily reflective of the views of Asheboro City Schools.
Upon Approval of Distribution, Group/Organization must:
1. Separate and securely bundle materials into groups of 25 to expedite handling at the schools.
2. Package materials by school and label with school name.
3. Attach one copy of this distribution form with each school’s materials.
4. Submit materials AFTER the first two weeks of school and UP TO the last two weeks of the school year.
5. Deliver all materials to Asheboro Schools Central Office for distribution. Materials may not be delivered directly to schools.
