Two one-act plays to be presented Nov. 3-6

Asheboro High School Park Street Players will be presenting two one-act plays, November 3-6, 2011. The show will open with scenes from Of Mice and Men, following intermission the audience will enjoy selected scenes from Steel Magnolias.

 

Of Mice and Men was written by Nobel Prize-winning author John Steinbeck and tells the tragic story of George Milton and Lennie Small, two displaced migrant ranch workers during the Great Depression in California. This play contains profane language, violence, mature themes, and may not be suitable for all audiences.

 

The cast includes: Patrick Sullivan as George; Samuel (Chip) Richey as Lennie; Nick Otranto as Candy; Matthew Johnson as Curley; Ethan Wilson as Carlson; Victoria Kucinski is Curley’s wife; and David Bisese as Whit.

 

Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling is about the bond among a group of women from a parish in the Natchitoches, Louisiana that deals with the playwright's experience with the death of his sister.

 

The cast includes: Mary Moorhouse as M’Lynn; Kalyn Sisco as Shelby; Christina Pincus as Truvy; Georgia Morgan as Annelle; Cara Schauble as Clairee; and Macy Cox as Ouiser.

 

Evening performances begin at 7:30pm, November 3, 4 and 5; afternoon matinee at 2:30pm on Sunday, November 6th. Tickets are $6 at the door, open seating.
