Special Olympics set for April 7th
Special Olympics Spring Games will be held on Thursday, April 7 at Southwestern Randolph High School. Over two hundred athletes from Randolph County and Asheboro City Schools will compete in track and field events.
One new feature at Spring Games will be the addition of an Olympic Village which will be filled with a variety of activities, games, prizes, music, and exhibits. Athletes may participate in the Village after they have competed in their athletic events. Cayleigh Davis - a senior at SWRHS – is coordinating the Village as part of her Senior Graduation Project.
Cayleigh has organized a fundraiser for Special Olympics to be held at the Asheboro Chick-Fil-A on Dixie Drive on Thursday, March 31 from 5 – 8 pm. For customers who mention Special Olympics as they order, Chick-Fil-A will donate ten percent of those sales to Randolph County Special Olympics. Please visit the restaurant and support not only the efforts of this hard-working senior, but also our local athletes.
