Kania places first in Region V science fair
Congratulations to the following students on their success at the Region V Science Fair held last February 22nd in Winston-Salem:
Cameron Kania, South Asheboro Middle School, took 1st place in the Earth and Environmental category for his project BioGas: The Fuel of the Future. He was also awarded “Best All Around” by the Northwest Area Health Education Center of Wake Forest School of Medicine. This award included $200 cash for Kania and $200 to his science teacher, Jennifer Miller. He also received a $75 cash award and “Certificate of Merit” from the Water Works Association and Water Environment Association. Kania will move to the state competition to be held in Raleigh March 14-15.
Denton Richey and Maurice Goldston, North Asheboro Middle School, took third place in the Physical Science category with their project Ballin’.
Morgan Neely, Asheboro High School, placed third in the senior Earth Science division.
