Gifted plan public forum set for April 3rd

The 2007-2010 Academically and Intellectually Gifted Plan has recently been approved by Asheboro City Schools Board of Education and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.   The Asheboro City Schools plan contains guidelines to identify potentially gifted students and establishes procedures for providing appropriate educational services to each gifted student. The plan addresses the current strengths, goals, program evaluation, professional development, parent and community involvement and links to other system-wide initiatives.

The public is invited to attend an informational session to highlight the Academically and Intellectually Gifted 2007-2010 Plan.   The session will be held on April 3, 2008 at South Asheboro Middle School (theater room) beginning at 6:00 pm. This session is designed for parents of students in kindergarten through twelfth grade.
