EMBARQ sponsors academic award

Asheboro City Schools and EMBARQ are pleased to announce the winners of this year’s EMBARQ Superintendent’s Award, honoring high school seniors for maintaining an unweighted grade point average of 4.0 their entire high school career. “We are pleased to have a terrific community partner in EMBARQ that values outstanding academic achievement,” said Dr. Diane Frost, superintendent.

One senior received the seventh annual EMBARQ Superintendent’s Award during the June 1st scholarship awards night: Nicholas Heerschap.

“I am particularly honored to have this award named the EMBARQ Superintendent’s Award. EMBARQ is a strong supporter of education in our community and this is a fitting tribute to these outstanding seniors.”

Kaye Bryan, EMBARQ District Public Affairs Manager, and Carson Robinson, District Network Services Manager were on hand to present the award along with Dr. Frost. This exemplary student was presented with a specially designed crystal award to honor his superior high school achievement.
