AHS Students attend conference

Eight students and one advisor from Asheboro High School attended the 2009 North Carolina Association of Student Councils Middle Level Workshop in Reidsville on September 26-27.

This annual event allows young leaders in the middle grades and in the first year of high school to find out more about the state association, to meet students from other schools, and to learn about school activities that can be taken back and used in home councils.

The student delegates were: Cheyenne Hicks, Shae Hicks, Chandler Kania, Stephanie McLeod, Diana Rosales and Marcus Staley.  AHS senior Dylan Auman served as a junior counselor for the workshop. AHS senior Kara Dough serves as State President and was the emcee for the conference.  AHS Advisor Kim Lemons served on the workshop set-up staff.

This year’s North Carolina Association of Student Councils’ theme is “Lights, Camera, Leadership.”  Asheboro High School will host the NCASC state convention in March 2010.
